The Canadian Public Accountability Board is Canada’s recognized source of timely reporting on auditor oversight and audit quality. We contribute to thought leadership on enhancing audit quality through resources, insights, tools, research, outreach and communication. We also act as a catalyst for dialogue and engagement among key stakeholders on audit quality issues, domestically and globally.​


Founded in 1945 as an independent tax research organization under the joint sponsorship of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation provides a unique forum for lawyers, accountants, academics, and other tax professionals to work together for the betterment of the Canadian tax system and the tax profession in general.

The Foundation is Canada’s leading source of insight on tax issues; it promotes understanding of the Canadian tax system through analysis, research, and debate, and provides perspective and impartial recommendations concerning its equity, efficiency, and application.


The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Canada is the leading national organization for trust and estate professionals advising families across generations. STEP Canada was established in 1998, and represents over 2,500 practitioners countrywide across 11 branches and chapters. The association’s activities are driven and overseen by a national board of directors; and supported by 14 national committees and 11 regional branch and chapter committees. The STEP Canada national office is based in Toronto, Ontario with 10 professional staff members. STEP Canada is an extension of STEP Worldwide, founded in London, England in 1991, which represents 20,000 practitioners across 95 countries.
